Can I Run GTA 6? Check Your PC or Laptop

Pick your graphics card, RAM, CPU and drive for an honest verdict. Until Rockstar publishes PC specs, it compares your parts with the PS5 GTA 6 runs on.

Quick answer

No PC can run GTA 6 today, because there is no PC version yet. Not announced Unknown

Press Detect my PC and the checker reads your graphics card straight from your browser, with nothing to download. It then estimates how your PC would cope if a PC port asks for console-level power. As a rule of thumb, an 8 GB graphics card at RTX 3060 or RX 6600 XT level, 16 GB of RAM and an SSD should match console quality. Estimate

Can I Run GTA 6?

Rockstar has not published PC requirements, so this gives an estimate based on how your PC compares with the PS5 hardware GTA 6 runs on. Estimate

Works in your browser. Nothing is uploaded or stored.

Press "Detect my PC" or pick your graphics card to see the verdict

Estimate only. GTA 6 is not on PC yet, and the real requirements could be higher or lower. This tool switches to official numbers the day Rockstar publishes them. Browsers can read your graphics card and CPU threads, but not exact RAM or storage, so check those two yourself.

How auto-detect works

Your browser already knows which graphics chip draws web pages, and it shares that name through WebGL, the same technology that runs 3D graphics on websites. The checker reads it, matches it against more than 130 desktop, laptop and integrated graphics chips, and fills in the form for you. It also reads how many CPU threads your processor has and a rough memory figure. Everything happens on your device: nothing is uploaded or saved.

Three limits to know about:

  • Laptops with two graphics chips: to save battery, browsers often use the built-in Intel or AMD graphics instead of the NVIDIA or AMD card. If the checker finds integrated graphics but you know you have a gaming card, pick it from the list.
  • RAM: browsers report memory only up to 8 GB, so choose your exact amount. On Windows you can see it in Settings, System, About.
  • Storage: browsers cannot see your drives, so tell the checker whether you have an NVMe SSD, a SATA SSD or a hard drive. Our guide to checking your PC specs shows where to find each one.

Every result gets its own link, so you can share your verdict or come back to it when Rockstar publishes the real requirements.

How the GTA 6 checker decides

Rockstar has not published any GTA 6 PC requirements, so the checker cannot compare you with them yet. Instead it compares your parts with two things that are known. The first is the hardware GTA 6 was built for: the PS5's graphics chip performs roughly like an RTX 2070 Super or RX 6600 XT, and the console runs the game at 30 fps Reported. The second is the official spec sheet of GTA V Enhanced, Rockstar's latest PC release, which already requires an SSD and recommends 16 GB of RAM and an 8 GB graphics card Official.

Each graphics card in the list has a rough performance score where the PS5 graphics chip equals 100. The score sets the main verdict:

Score versus PS5 GPUVerdictExample cards
Below 45Unlikely to run wellGTX 1650, GTX 1050 Ti, RTX 2050, integrated graphics
45 to 74Possible at low settingsRTX 3050, GTX 1660 Super, RX 580, RTX 4050 Laptop, RTX 2060
75 to 109Likely, around console qualityRTX 3060, RTX 4060, RX 6600, RX 7600, RTX 2070 Super, GTX 1080 Ti
110 and aboveLikely, above console qualityRTX 3070, RTX 4070, RTX 5070, RX 6700 XT, RX 7800 XT, Arc B580

The checker then looks for bottlenecks. It downgrades the verdict for graphics cards with less than 6 GB of VRAM, for 8 GB of system RAM, for older four-core processors and for hard drives. Each warning explains why. The scores are approximate community comparisons, not benchmarks of GTA 6, so treat the verdict as a planning guide Estimate.

Find your PC specs in one minute

  1. Press Ctrl, Shift and Esc to open Task Manager, then open the Performance tab.
  2. Click GPU to see your graphics card name and "Dedicated GPU memory" (that is your VRAM).
  3. Click Memory to see your RAM, and CPU to see your processor and its number of cores.
  4. Click Disk to see whether your game drive is an SSD or HDD.

Laptop owners: the card name ends in "Laptop GPU" in Task Manager. Choose the laptop entry in the checker, because laptop chips are slower than desktop cards with the same name. More ways to check are in how to check your PC specs.

What usually holds a PC back

VRAM. Cards with 4 GB, like the GTX 1650 and many budget laptop chips, will be the first to struggle. Open-world games load huge amounts of texture data, and the consoles have 16 GB of shared memory to work with. See how much VRAM GTA 6 needs.

RAM. 8 GB is below what big current games ask for. Going to 16 GB is cheap and helps every modern game. See how much RAM GTA 6 needs.

Storage. Rockstar already requires an SSD for GTA V Enhanced, so a hard drive is very unlikely to be enough for GTA 6.

CPU. A busy city means lots of traffic and pedestrians to simulate. Six modern cores should handle console-like settings, and eight fast cores help if you want higher frame rates.

When will the checker use official specs?

The day Rockstar publishes GTA 6 PC requirements. The checker reads them from a single setting on this site, so the verdicts will switch to official minimum and recommended tiers without changing how you use it. The GTA 6 PC requirements page and PC release status will update at the same time.

Can I run GTA 6 FAQ

Can my PC run GTA 6 right now?

No PC can, because GTA 6 is only on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S at launch. The checker estimates how your PC would handle a future PC version.

Can an RTX 3050 run GTA 6?

Our estimate is low settings at best. The desktop 8 GB version has the best chance. Laptop versions with 4 GB of VRAM will struggle most.

Can an RTX 3060 run GTA 6?

Likely, at around console quality, based on our estimate. The RTX 3060 is close to the PS5's graphics chip and its 12 GB of VRAM is plenty.

Is this the same as Can You Run It?

No. Sites like that scan your PC against official specs, which do not exist for GTA 6 yet. Our checker explains an estimate based on the console hardware instead, and nothing is installed on your PC.

How accurate is the verdict?

It is a reasoned estimate, not a test of GTA 6. Real requirements could be higher or lower. We switch to official numbers as soon as they exist.
