GTA 6 Price: Standard, Ultimate and Price by Country

GTA 6 is priced above the usual $69.99 for big console games. Prices are set separately in each country rather than converted from dollars, so some regions pay much more or less in real terms. This page lists the prices we can confirm from store listings or credible reports, labels each one, and adds the full cost if you also need a console or extra storage.

GTA 6 price by country

Official means the price appears on the PlayStation Store or Microsoft Store listing, or in Rockstar's announcement. Reported means price-guide sites and local media agree, but store listings showed small differences or we could not check them directly. What each edition includes

Does the physical copy cost less?

The list price is the same. The boxed Standard Edition contains a download code rather than a disc, according to Rockstar Support, so you still download the whole game. Physical copies do not include the free month of GTA+, and PlayStation codes only work on accounts from the same region as the store that sold them. The main reason to buy boxed is a retailer discount or a gift.

The full cost if you need hardware

If you do not own a PS5 or Xbox Series X|S yet, the game is the smaller part of the cost. Console prices have changed since launch in many countries, so treat these as a guide and check current prices:

Is GTA 6 on PS Plus or Game Pass?

Why does GTA 6 cost $79.99?

Rockstar has not explained its pricing. Take-Two's chief executive has praised pre-order demand without sharing numbers, and the price sits $10 above the usual top price for console games. Regional prices are set to local market conditions, which is why the Canadian and Australian prices do not match a straight dollar conversion.

How GTA 6 compares with past Rockstar launch prices

The $20 jump over GTA V looks large, but it is close to inflation over 13 years, and the industry moved its top console price to $69.99 in 2020. GTA 6 is $10 above that newer standard.

Buying from another region

Prices differ a lot between regions, so some players look at cheaper stores abroad. Be careful. A PlayStation game must be bought on an account from the same region as the store, and PlayStation physical codes only redeem in matching region groups (the UK is its own group). Xbox codes are generally not region-locked, but Microsoft's terms still apply to accounts and payment methods. Using a VPN or fake address to buy can break store terms and risk your account. Buying from your own region's store or a local retailer is the safe option.

When to buy

If you want the Vintage Vice City Pack, buy or pre-order before 20 November 2026. If you want to play the moment the game unlocks, pre-order digitally so the game can pre-load from 12 November 2026. A digital pre-order does not lock you in: you can usually cancel through the store's refund rules before release. If you are happy to wait, prices on big games rarely drop much in the first months, so there is little to gain from holding off for a sale.
