Will GTA 6 Run on Windows 10?

Many gaming PCs still run Windows 10. With a GTA 6 PC release reported for early 2027, the question is whether those PCs need an operating system upgrade. Here is what is known.

What points to Windows 11

Could GTA 6 still support Windows 10?

Possibly. GTA V Enhanced still lists Windows 10 as its minimum, and publishers often keep supporting older Windows versions for a while after Microsoft ends support. But by 2027, Windows 10 will have been out of support for more than a year, and anti-cheat systems and graphics drivers tend to follow Microsoft's lead. A GTA 6 port listing Windows 11 as the minimum would not be surprising Estimate.

Should you upgrade to Windows 11 now?

If your PC meets Windows 11's requirements (TPM 2.0, Secure Boot and a supported processor), upgrading is free from Windows 10 and is a sensible step for security anyway. If your PC does not meet them, it is probably also older than what GTA 6 will need, so check the rest of your hardware first with Can I run GTA 6? and the upgrade guide.

How to check if your PC can run Windows 11

Microsoft's free PC Health Check app tells you whether your PC meets the Windows 11 requirements and what is missing. The most common blockers are TPM 2.0 or Secure Boot switched off in the BIOS, which can often be turned on, and older processors that Microsoft does not support. Microsoft's paid Extended Security Updates for home users only covered one extra year, so staying on Windows 10 for a 2027 game is a risk for security as well as compatibility. While you are checking, look at your RAM and storage too, with how to check your PC specs.
