The base PS5 is the hardware GTA 6 was designed around. You do not need a PS5 Pro.
With the PS5 Pro on sale, some owners of the original 2020 PS5 worry their console is now second tier. It is not. All standard PS5 models share the same processor, graphics chip and memory, so they play GTA 6 the same way. The only real difference between them is storage.

Storage on the 825 GB PS5
The launch PS5 leaves about 667 GB for games. GTA 6 plus room for patches needs about 230 GB (estimate), so it fits with room to spare if your console is not already full. If you have several big games installed, move some to a USB drive (PS5 games can be stored there, PS4 games can even run from it) or add an M.2 SSD. Will the PS5 Pro version be much better?
The PS5 Pro version carries the PS5 Pro Enhanced tag, but Rockstar has not said what improves. Expect a sharper image or better effects rather than a different game. If you already own a PS5, upgrading just for GTA 6 is hard to justify until the details are known. Read GTA 6 on PS5 Pro.

FAQ
Will GTA 6 run well on the original PS5?
Yes. It is the console Rockstar designed around, at 30 FPS. The Slim performs the same.
Is GTA 6 worse on the PS5 Digital Edition?
No. It is identical, and since the boxed game holds a download code, you do not miss anything without a disc drive.
Does the launch PS5 have enough storage for GTA 6?
Yes, about 667 GB is usable. Keep about 230 GB free for GTA 6 and its first patch.
