Will GTA 6 Fit on Xbox Series S 512 GB?

The 512 GB Series S is the most storage-starved console that runs GTA 6. Microsoft's system software takes a large slice of the drive, so the real space for games is far below 512 GB. If you own one, the work you do before pre-load on 12 November 2026 decides whether launch night goes smoothly.

How to make room on Series S

1. Check what you have: Settings, System, Storage devices, then select the internal drive. My games and apps, then Manage, lets you sort by size.
2. Move, do not delete: Series X|S games can be moved to a USB drive for storage and moved back when you want to play. That is much faster than downloading again. Older Xbox One games can even run from USB.
3. Remove what you are done with: uninstall finished games. Your saves stay in the cloud.

Can you play GTA 6 from a USB drive on Series S?
